From biological monitoring to working in sustainable agriculture, this organization has three field stations in the Peruvian Amazon accepting volunteers to help with conservation efforts.
The organization works to conserve biodiversity in the Amazon basin by developing new scientific understanding, sustainable resource management systems and rational land-use policy.
The organization regularly posts longer-term (3+ months) internship positions as well, so check through the site to see if your skill-set is a good fit for their projects. Volunteers must apply, and acceptance is competitive.
Contact ACC directly through the link below to find out more about their volunteer opportunities.
Minimum of 30 days, discounts on fees for longer-term volunteers. These remote locations in the Amazon make long-term stays ideal.
Volunteers pay $35/day (covers food + lodging) for any stay lasting between 1 and 2 months, or $30/day for stays lasting 2 months or longer. Volunteers are required to work 6 hour days at least 5 days a week.
