Animal Aid is a vital rescue center, hospital and sanctuary for injured and ill street animals in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. We rescue thousands of hurt and sick animals each year and provide sanctuary to those who need life-long care.

The center has a very open policy for visitors and volunteers to come and visit, love, or help with the animals. Whether you have technical skills with animal health care or whether you are a motivated animal lover who wants to help by giving tender loving care, Animal Aid has opportunities.

Volunteers with specialized skills with animals are always needed (veternarians), but there is enough work done running the center that volunteers of every skill are also needed for activities like:

  • socializing with the sanctuary dogs, particularly those with disabilities who thrive on special attention and one-on-one time with volunteers
  • bottle feeding milk to baby calves
  • brushing donkeys
  • assisting in physical therapy
  • bathing and brushing dogs

The center highly recommends that long-term volunteers receive a rabies vaccines. You can still volunteer without it, but the center will limit the areas of where you can volunteer.
