Association for India’s Development is a volunteer movement promoting sustainable, equitable and just development. AID supports grassroots organizations in India and initiates efforts in various interconnected spheres such as agriculture, energy, education, health , livelihoods, natural resources including land and water, women’s empowerment and social justice.

Volunteers are placed in one of AID’s partner organizations and have the opportunity to serve in a variety of manners, depending on their skill set and interests.

Volunteer positions range from 3-6 months. Internship positions range from 1 to 6 months.

Short visits to sites are also a possibility if you are interested in learning about sustainable development efforts in India.


Volunteers are expected to pay all their own costs, but prices in India are low. Some organizations may be able to help interns and volunteers locate affordable accommodation.
