The Consorcio Oaxaca’s mission is to promote the recognition of women as full citizens, to promote the development of a just, pluralistic society and to strengthen the rule of law. The organization runs awareness programs in the city, as well as programs, counseling, and more. High level Spanish language abilities is a must.

Some of the organization’s activities include:

  • The construction of a participating citizenship in favor of democracy and justice.
  • Participation in various networks of the feminist movement, and the promotion of alliances between civil society organizations to advocate for the respect of human rights and to stop violence against women.
  • Promoting organizational and leadership skills of women of indigenous and mestizo origin in rural and urban areas so that they can defend their rights, to counter violence against women and actively participate in decision-making in the private and public space.
