Epic Arts aims to challenge perceptions around disability by providing an inclusive arts course in the community of Kampot, Cambodia. This arts course is open to students from the deaf, disabled and non-disabled community. Students study an arts based education program in Dance, Theatre, Art, Film, Music and Literacy. The students are given a creative voice and seen as valuable members of society. Epic Arts also provides general education for children and young people with learning difficulties.
Some graduates of the arts course go on to join the Arts Team, providing weekly art and dance lessons at schools in Kampot. In a country where people with disabilities are not allowed to become teachers in state schools, “Arts in Schools” gives disabled people the chance to change attitudes through arts education.
