Habla Ya is a Spanish Language School with extensive volunteer programs and support for Boquete and Bocas del Toro. The organization has connections within everything from literacy to wildlife and conservation.

The organization acts as a placement company with various NGOs and has strong connections throughout the region if you’re interested in a bit more on-the-ground support than fully independent volunteering.

Some of their neat projects include working with the elderly, supporting recycling programs, youth sports coaching, sea turtle conservation, teaching, and more. They list out all the options on their site.

Their huge range of programs have various requirements; some are in need of even just an afternoon of tutoring help if you’re in the region. Though most projects benefit from longer-term support.

The teaching English program is free (they always need help!) and the other projects range from $10-$30 per day on average depending on which project and where. Fees are lower for their Spanish language students.
