Saint Ann Foundation (SAF) is local independent non-profit organisation dedicated to working with children and women in Uganda. SAF is registered and works with the poor to overcome poverty and injustice and alleviate the distress of the vulnerable and defenseless. The organization provides care and support to those in society who are in need of compassion, those disenfranchised, or those who have been rendered voiceless.
SAF offers a variety of projects to meet the interests and skills of both students and professionals.
Volunteers Can help in the following areas:
- Childcare project
- Teaching project
- Community Development project
- Agriculture & Farming project
- Microfinance project
- Sports coaching project
- Health and medical care
A minimum one-week commitment is needed for all of the programs. For those projects involving children, GV recommends that volunteers speed the maximum amount of time possible at the project — consider other projects unless you have a month to dedicate.
Fees range from $150 per week and above, with each extra week at $120. The program fee includes accommodation and meals, airport transfer, and more.
