Tegar Oselling Monasteryis a Buddhist Monastery where monks study about different aspects of Buddhism including phylosophy, debate, meditation, religion and everything that compounds Buddhist monks way of life. The monastery has privileged location at the top of a hill around Kathmandu Valley, on the hill in front of Swayambhu Temple — close enough for if you need to do something downtown but apart from Kathmandu’s hustle and bustle, with privileged views from the valley and mountains, making it an incredible place to be with a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere.
There are approximately 150 monks at the monastery, from 14 years old and up, and nine teachers. Tegar Oselling Monastery needs proficient English speakers to teach one-on-one to their teachers. They all have different English levels, interests, needs and opportunity areas, which volunteers need to consider in order to adapt the classes. The monastery needs one to two teachers per month, so email ahead of time to reserve your place as a volunteer.
