Village Science is an organization with a vision. It aims to bring quality science education to the students of Luang Prabang, Lao People’s Democratic Republic to help promote literacy and develop critical thinking. The group works with teachers and students in order to produce science texts and materials in the Lao language.
Village Science’s mission is to enhance the Lao people’s quality of life by empowering them to be self-sufficient so that they could adapt to the fast-changing, modern world. The organization recognizes that, in order for a community to be able to support itself and break away from the bondage of poverty, an important component in its educational system is Science.
Village Science welcomes people who are willing to sharing their skills and volunteer. Translators, editors, illustrators and writers can help develop science projects. Accountants and lawyers can also donate their skills with regards to their profession. Volunteers can also teach Science or contribute their photography skills.
