Become a GV Ambassador

Last Updated on March 5, 2023

Grassroots Volunteering launched in 2011 with a single mission: directly connect travelers with social enterprises and independent volunteer opportunities. Over the years, GV has grown larger than imagined thanks to our growing community of service-minded travelers committed to making a positive impact while they travel. As the site grew, so did the interest! The community understood our mission and wrote asking for ways to expand the mission and breadth to every corner of the Earth. We listened. GV Ambassadors launched in 2013. As of 2023, the Ambassadors program is on pause while the GV team reassess how to best serve the community.

What is GV Ambassadors?

The GV Ambassadors program quickly became the heart of Grassroots Volunteering. GV Ambassadors are passionate members of the GV community (these are travelers, expats, and volunteers) who volunteer their time, expertise, and location to help map the world and expand our database. GV Ambassadors use the site’s methodology (the way we select and vet companies) to expand the database so other travelers all over the world can use GV as a way to add a service element to their next trip.

Become a GV Ambassador

GV Ambassadors have direct access to our unique dual database and are given the tools and support to add projects directly into the site. We offer support and communication between Ambassadors, as well as with the site’s founder.

Our GV Ambassadors are mapping the world and they donate their time for free to further the site’s mission. If this sounds like a good fit for your upcoming long-term travels, or if you’re keen to map your corner of the world, please get in touch and we will set up a call between you and the founder, Shannon O’Donnell, to talk about working together.
