One of the first true social enterprises operating in Thailand, Cabbages and Condoms is a themed restaurant that uses its proceeds to fund a sexual health education and provision programs. What started as a single restaurant is now a chain with several locations around Thailand, as well as a few international ones as well. Not only is the food excellent (and spiced to foreign palates), there are tons of fun condom-themed decorations to admire while you wait.
The restaurant has locations (as well as a resort too in many cases) in Pattaya , Chonburi, Ratchaburi, Chiang Rai, Lampang, Krabi, and other locations. International locations include Cheltenham and Oxfordshire.
What Type of Food is Served?
The food is highly rated and offers some very solid versions of the most popular Thai dishes you could want. Specialty dishes at Cabbages and Condoms include:
- Massaman Curry: Chicken, beef, or lamb sweet curry with potato
- Mieng Khum: Thai ancient appetizer-lemon, dried shrimp, peanut, ginger, deep-fried coconut, chili, shallots, and special sauce with wild betel leaves
- Pad Thai Goong Sod: Stir-fried rice noodle with shrimps
- Tom Yam Goong: Thai spicy shrimp soup, seasoned with chili, lime, lemongrass, and galangal

The founder believes that birth control should be as accessible and as easy to buy, and has spent decades investing money in addressing the issue through this popular social enterprise. The funds also support anti-corruption efforts and address sustainability.
All profits support the The Population & Community Development Association (PDA) and its programs in primary health, education, HIV/AIDS, rural development, environment and water etc.
