*Caribeans Coffee & Chocolate is a small family run business in Puerto Viejo, Limon, Costa Rica. Their mission is to make high-quality products from locally sourced, organic, and fair trade raw products. They are the area’s original bean-to-bar chocolate maker, and the only locally sourced fresh roasted coffee.
Visit the cafe for sandwiches, coffee and chocolate or sign up for The Chocolate Forest Experience, a three-hour guided tour of the cacao farm. There they run a sustainable permaculture farm where resident volunteers and staff are working to restore the cacao and the forest garden in a balanced ecological and sustainable way. Tour guests will experience a guided hike through the cacao forest while learning of the history and science of chocolate. Also included is a visit to the Chocolate Creation Lab to see where the cacao beans become chocolate, and finally a chocolate tasting overlooking the Caribbean Sea.
As of 2017, group tours at pre-scheduled times are $28USD per person or $32USD for private (min 4 people).
