Why Support Courageous Kitchen?

Courageous Kitchen began in 2009 as a small Bangkok based initiative called In Search of Sanuk, which aimed to provide emergency food and housing for children and families most in need. As the project grew, food and nutrition education and support became most important to the communities the founders served. In late 2015, the project was registered in the US as tax exempt 501(c)3 under the name Courageous Kitchen Inc. In the years since, the business has grown, helping communities during the Covid-19 pandemic, and beyond.

The organization uses funds from cooking classes and its rotating range of Bangkok tourism experiences to serve marginalized communities. It provides nutrition and cooking classes for students that are funded by the tourism initiatives and support students who are at risk of poverty, malnutrition, poor education, and exploitation—basically all of the proceeds from each to make a difference in communities in need. These are some of the social initiatives at work as of 2023:

  • Informal Pre-School for 3-6 year olds
  • Cooking & English Classes
  • Distribution of Food and Hygiene Products
  • Support for Housing and Medical Emergencies
