Malayeka Charity

Malayeka is an empowerment center teaching English, nutrition and health, self-love, and self-expression. Our vision is to empower women and children through education and self-love.

Their mission is to create and empower a sustainable community starting with women and their children through education, community meetings, and educational workshops. Volunteers at this organization also plan classes and can incorporate their skills and passions.

One of the program founders, Jillian Johnston, states that “This is a chance for (volunteers) to throw themselves into an opportunity to learn and grow..we are not just teachers for the children, we are entertainers. We want to make sure the program is engaging, a place where everyone is being empowered.”

The organization lost it’s main URL in 2018, so it’s likely best to reach out via Facebook if no one responds via the website.

Malayeka Charity has space for both long-term and short-term volunteers. Long-term volunteers would stay a minimum of six months.
