Saint Ann Foundation (SAF) is local independent non-profit organisation dedicated to working with vulnerable women and children in Uganda. SAF is registered and works with the poor to overcome poverty and injustice and alleviate the distress of the vulnerable and defenseless. The organization provides care and support to those in society who are in need of compassion, those disenfranchised, or those who have been rendered voiceless.
The organization ensures women and children have access to fundamental rights, basic necessitates such as food, shelter and healthcare, education, cultural arts and music, sports, socio-economic participation, and community support. To achieve this, the organization fosters international cooperation, community based development, and cross cultural programs to ensure that all children have access to an enriched education and future opportunities. Above all, SAF believes “Education attainment is an important predictor of future employment, welfare, and health prospects—and it improves [a person’s] ability to contribute socially and economically in the community.”
Volunteer with the Saint Ann Foundation and make a positive change in the lives of our children and the local community. Volunteers can choose from various projects to ensure interests and strengths are best utilized during their time with SAF. By using skills, time, and energy, volunteers make a long lasting difference to SAF and the local community. Projects run year round and each volunteer chooses when they want to start and the duration.
All volunteers can stay at the Saint Ann Foundation home, a short walk to the school and a relaxing retreat after a long day. Host families also welcome volunteers into their homes for a truly immersive and personal stay.
SAF offers a variety of projects to meet the interests and skills of both students and professionals.
