Trinity Yard is an educational organization that serves the youth of Cape Three Points, Ghana, and the surrounding communities — rural areas where access to educational opportunities is limited.
Due to the lack of government-run secondary schooling, opportunities beyond junior high school are particularly limited, and local students are often prematurely pushed off the academic track, limiting their potential for growth. Trinity aims to bridge that gap in three ways:
- By providing a fee-free secondary education option with a focus on English and Reading Comprehension, Math, traditional Kente Weaving, and a variety of extracurricular activities and vocational workshops
- By helping students plan for their futures through individualized career counseling and, thereafter assisting in the placement and funding of our graduates in senior high schools, vocational institutions, and apprenticeship programs of their choice
- By organizing cooperative programs between visiting student travel groups and the organization’s student body, which promotes cultural exchange, community service, and educational growth.
All volunteers should submit a volunteer application to the Trinity staff; applications are reviewed to ensure a good-fit between volunteers and the tight-knit family of Trinity staff living, eating, and sharing life together.
Generally volunteers should consider applying for one of the following:
1 month – for skilled volunteers (farming, carpentry, etc)
6 months – for teacher, skilled farmer, grant writer, tech
11 months – full time teacher, school administrator
The project offers a beautiful coastal setting, and volunteers do all they can to help serve the vision of Trinity Yard School: to empower the youth of Cape Three Points and surrounding villages through education and vocational arts.
