Vietnam Cat Welfare

Vietnam Cat Welfare is an NGO based in Hoi An, central Vietnam. This organization is the primary cat shelter in the region. It houses over 60 rescue cats. The organization operates Jack’s Cat Cafe on the premises to help fund the work of not only improving the welfare of cats, but to also educate and increase the compassion towards cats and all animals throughout Vietnam.

The organization is based in Hoi An, a beautiful beach and riverside UNESCO World Heritage site. It makes a great base for volunteers. If you love cats and animals, and/or have experience in the cafe/restaurant business, (specifically vegetarian ideas) and can importantly be independent and help run a successful business, then the organization would love to have you join the team.

Volunteers are needed to help with: gardening, building, cooking and shopping, animal care, and charity work.

Volunteers are classified as either:

  • Jack’s Cat Cafe Volunteers
  • Cat Shelter General volunteers

Jack’s asks that PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS APPLICATIONS ONLY.

If you don’t have one month or more to commit, consider visiting the cafe when you’re in Hoi An and showing your support that way.

Duration
One month minimum and volunteers are expected to work Maximum 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week.
Fees
Volunteering is free; the organization will help find low-cost accommodation nearby in exchange for the commitment to work in the cafe and on the property as agreed.
